St Mary's Music Festival

Begun in 2023, as a celebration of the centenary of the St Mary’s organ, this annual Parish Festival takes place over the late Spring Bank Holiday weekend, and brings high quality music performance to Wanstead, with the emphasis on local performers and composers.

2024 featured a world premiere of All Rest, a site-specific Opera written especially for us by Wanstead-based composer Simone Spagnolo, as well as a saxophone quintet, and an organ recital given by the Parish organists, which was preceded by a talk on past organists of the Parish.
