Welcome to Christ Church
Welcome to Christ Church and thank you for having come to church today.
This is a place where Christian people have worshipped for generations. Services are held most days here and people in this community offer prayers for others every day.
If you have come for a service, it is likely that some of what we do might be a little different to what you experience elsewhere! We hope that you feel welcome and that the various parts of the liturgy feed your senses in a variety of ways. Do not feel self-conscious if you do not always know whether to sit, stand, sing, etc - nobody will judge you at all. Indeed, we're very pleased you are here and we're glad to share this act of worship with you. Our website gives lots more details about our lively parish and all that goes on here: www.wansteadparish.org
If you have come for some space, peace and quiet, or to pray - you are very welcome. Our church is open on weekdays til 1pm and you are free to spend as much time here as you wish. Votive candles are available to light over in what is known as the 'pricket stand' at the front of the lady chapel in the side aisle. You are also welcome to write prayer requests on the prayer board on the column in front of it, and members of our prayer group will pray for you or for the person or issue you wish to pray for.
Our parish office is open at Christ Church on Mon, Tues, Weds and Fri from 9am to 1pm. Please contact Ann Corne, our parish manager, should you wish to receive our weekly news update, for general enquires, or if you wish to speak to a member of the clergy. wansteadparishadmin@uwclub.net
May God's peace be with you, today and always.
Fr James Gilder,
Rector of Wanstead.
