Christ Church
‘The Church on the Green’.
Christ Church is the church that is in the geographical centre of Wanstead, and the spire is one that can be seen for miles around! With the school, the Parish Halls, the Parish Office and the Rectory in close proximity, Christ Church often feels like it is almost on everyone’s doorstep.
We are a welcoming a diverse group of people of all ages, who meet on Sundays and during the week for worship. Our worship has traditionally embraced the beauty of the Eucharist in all its glory – and we love taking part in liturgy that includes music, movement and incense: something for pretty-much all the senses to enjoy as a way of experiencing the wonder of God.
However, we are also serious about children and young families! Each week our Sunday morning services include great provision for the under 5s and for primary school children, and many families find not only their spiritual home here, but also make new friends for themselves and for their children. Every year we enjoy many baptisms and several weddings, as well as lots of fun social events.

You can find out more about our services, including midweek services, here.
Our church has toilet facilities and a hearing loop. It has disabled access. We’re currently looking at ways of raising funds to modernise our interior and make it more suited to the 21st century, as well as safeguarding the historic nature of our impressive church.
Whoever you are, you will find a welcome at Christ Church. There’s lots to be involved in, if you would like to be, or alternatively you can have the space to take in a service anonymously if that’s what you prefer (we’re not all extroverts!).
